I’ve learned that I used to make things mean things that they don’t, not just around anxiety. In fact, I sometimes still do. However, I understand much more deeply that my thoughts about my experiences are much more important than the actual experiences. And — I have choices about my thoughts and how to interpret my experiences. I didn’t use to understand I had choices about such things. They just “were.”
